Notes

  • Swap the chicken breast for thinly sliced beef steak for a more traditional Philly steak style filling.

  • Use red, yellow or mixed peppers instead of green pepper.

  • Add sliced mushrooms alongside the onion and pepper.

  • Use mozzarella for a milder cheese, mature cheddar for extra flavour or a mixture of both.

  • Add chilli flakes, jalapeños or hot sauce if you like a little heat.

  • Use shop-bought burger sauce instead of making your own.

  • Serve the filling over chips or rice instead of inside flatbreads.
