Fakeaways
This week we’re going full fakeaway at home, all the flavour, none of the price tag, and perfect for those cosy nights in where you just want something tasty without the effort. I’ve put together five of our go-to fakeaway dinners: Salt & Pepper Chicken & Chips, Crispy Cheesy Beef Tacos, Easy Chicken Kebabs, a proper Homemade Big Mac and Lottie’s favourite Sweet & Sour Chicken. All quick, all comforting, and all guaranteed clean plate meals in our house. Hope you love this week’s line up as much as we do 💛
Salt and pepper chicken and chips
If you love a Chinese takeaway night but want something quick and easy at home, this Salt & Chilli Chicken & Chips is such a good one. Crispy chicken, crunchy peppers, loads of flavour and everything tossed together in the pan at the end, it’s the kind of dinner that disappears fast in our house. Perfect for a cosy Friday night.

Cheesy Beef Tacos
These crispy beef tacos are dangerous in our house… I can’t even get them to the table before someone’s “just trying one” and suddenly half the batch is gone. The beef gets all crispy round the edges, the cheese melts perfectly, and honestly they’re one of those dinners where everyone hovers in the kitchen waiting for the next one to come out of the pan. Proper easy, proper tasty, and an instant family favourite.

Easy Chicken Kebabs
Woody absolutely loves a kebab night, so I wanted to make an easy homemade version we could throw together without any fuss. These chicken kebabs are so simple, just chicken thighs, spices and some peppers and onions cooked in the oven or air fryer, then stuffed into warm pittas with a quick garlic sauce. Proper cosy takeaway vibes and always a hit in our house.

Big Mac
We don’t get a Big Mac very often, but every time we do, the kids absolutely love it, so I wanted to make a proper homemade version we could all enjoy together. It’s so simple to throw together, the sauce tastes spot-on, and it’s one of those fun, build-your-own dinners that everyone gets excited about. Perfect for a cosy weekend fakeaway.

Sweet and Sour Chicken
Sweet and sour chicken is one of Lottie’s absolute favourites whenever we get a Chinese, so I wanted to make a quick, homemade version we could all enjoy. This one is tangy, sticky and so easy to throw together in one pan. It’s the perfect cosy fakeaway dinner and always disappears fast in our house. 💛
