Creamy Peppercorn Meatballs & Cheesy Mash

Growing up, steak with peppercorn sauce was always my birthday dinner of choice, so this is my quicker, cheaper and much more midweek friendly version. Golden meatballs in the creamiest peppercorn sauce, served with cheesy mash and your favourite veggies.

Notes

I used 1 tablespoon of pepper, but start with less if youre not a fan of heat and adjust it to your taste you can always add more!

If the onions are taking a while to soften, add a little splash of water and cook until it has evaporated. This helps soften the onions without them catching.

  • For a vegetarian version, swap the meatballs for vegetarian meatballs and use vegetable stock.

  • For a dairy-free version, use dairy-free cream, butter and grated cheese.

  • Swap the four-cheese blend for your favourite cheese, or leave it out for plain creamy mash.
